The most famous streaming platform, Price Increase in Disney plus, is all set to increase its price in the US as announced by its CEO. Disney has surpassed Netflix in subscribers and is maintaining its position as the strongest competitor. This price rise is an indication that Disney is ready to make its business more profitable and vast which can be available for everyone.
In order to subsidise the growth, Disney plus will increase the price by $3 to $10.99 starting from 8 December for US users. They are also looking forward to creating an ad-supported tier which will cost $ 7.99 and can gain popularity in recent times. Disney Plus is growing at a fast pace with about 152 million paid users and the other high executives of Disney are expecting this number to be increased by 240 million at least by 2024.
The Disney plus with ads will be $ 7.99 per month which is currently the price of the ad-free subscription. And the ads-free version will cost $10.99 with an increase of $3 per month.
A change will also be seen in annual prescriptions, still offering discounts for monthly plans. The strategy behind the price hike is that the new ad-supported version will also be at the exact cost as the older ad-free version. This will help attract price-sensitive users, and the ad-supported version can be an alternative.

Disney plus offers a cheaper version in better quality than its competitor Netflix which is at a rate of $ 15.50 per month allowing two devices to stream whereas Disney plus allows access to four platforms at no extra cost. People who are wanting an annual subscription can get it at least by 8 December at the older rate of $80.
Along with this, the prices of Hulu will also be hiked by $ 2 per month from $12.99 to $14.99 There will be an increase in the price of Hulu ads from $6.99 to $7.99. Together with these, Disney also revealed that the ESPN+ with ads would get a hike of 43% to $9.99 per month.
The Price Increase in Disney plus showcases the loss Disney might be going through even when there has been an elevation of about 15 million new users. It was calculated that the average revenue per user of disney+ reduced by 5% in the quarter in the US due to the users opting for some cheaper platforms.
